Vietnam and China boost research exchange of political theories and the teaching of Marxism

Attendees of the meeting were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, members of Party Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and representatives of several functional units of the Academy.

In the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences during their visit to Vietnam. He sent his congratulations to the Communist Party of China and Chinese leaders on the success of the 19th Congress of the Party. Besides, he highly appreciated the development of theories advanced by the Chinese Communist Party as a guide for successes of recent reforms and socio-economic developments in China.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang also emphasized that practical realities with historical successes of China and Vietnam were clear evidences to assert the vitality of socialism. He expressed his hope to exchange and share with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences the contents of real socialism building process in the two countries.

President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Wang Weiguang congratulated Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang on recently being selected as a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He also expressed his joy of a good, traditional, and close relationship among theorists in general and among theoreticial research institutes of Vietnam and China in particular.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the role and importance of political theory research, including Marxist theory; current situation on research and teaching of Marxism in Vietnam and China. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang believed that the cooperative relations and academic and theory exchange between the two Parties and among scientists of the two countries would contribute to deepening the friendly relations between Vietnam and China.

The visit of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences President Wang Weiguang took place at the same time when a high-level delegation of the People’s Republic of China led by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Da Nang city and paid a state visit to Ha Noi. On this occasion, there was also a series of events, economic, commercial, cultural, scientific, and theoretical exchanges between the two countries.
