Scientific Seminar: "Capability to Adapt to the Requirements of the New Society - Experiences in Training Civil Servants in Vietnam and Japan"

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Thao, Vice President of the Academy; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Nghia, General Director of International Cooperation and Prof. Sugimoto Yoshiteru, Japanese expert of JICA co-chaired the seminar. Attending the seminar were representative leaders of institutes, functional units, officials and lecturers in the entire Academy.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Viet Thao emphasized that over the past few years, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Japan International Cooperation Agency have jointly organized many activities to train officials, including the courses "Training management methods" for leading cadres, managers, lecturers of the Academy and many provincial political schools across the country. This cooperation has made a great impact in improving the quality and effectiveness of training management in the Academy as well as those provincial political schools.

Following the success of the training courses, this seminar is a grand opportunity for leaders, managers, lecturers and trainers to exchange knowledge and experiences with Japanese experts in training officials and civil servants in Japan and Vietnam, in order to enhance the necessary capacity of the leaders in Vietnam to fully meet the requirements and duties in the new society.

Overview of the seminar

At the seminar, Prof. Sugimoto Yoshiteru shared his experiences in training civil servants in Japan, focusing on strengthening the self-learning capacity of civil servants. The method is implemented through the following forms: lectures, case studies, case simulations...  in order to create new experiences, improve the practical situation management skills for leaders and managers. As a result, Japan has built a team of professional, independent, creative and adaptable staff to accommodate any change of circumstances. Vietnam can learn and apply these experiences to specific conditions of our country.

Participants of the seminar unanimously came up with many suggestions and comments on the objectives of training and exchanging experiences in their units. They also proposed many solutions to enhance the effectiveness of training leading teams in the coming time.
