President of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics receives and works with Chief of JICA Viet Nam Office

Within the framework of the project: “Training, fostering leaders and managers at all levels, especially for those of strategic level, administration reform and structure downsizing for effectiveness and efficiency in activities” sponsored by Japan, JICA Viet Nam Office and Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics will cooperate in training and fostering component.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of the Academy expressed his desire that the two sides will co-evaluate the efficiency of the cooperation during the previous period to make necessary and relevant adjustments to create foundation to ensure the best realization of the project. Based on the Academy’s training policy and plan, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang proposed: (i) Expand the scope of participants to join the training programs organized by the two sides, especially for the trainers at the unit level; (ii) Increase the number of Japanese experts involved in knowledge sharing; (iii) JICA Viet Nam Office assists the Academy in implementing the Project to set up a set of criteria for evaluating the Government’s efficiency and a set of criteria for the digital government.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Fujita Yasuo affirmed that Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang’s proposals were very specific, detailed and relevant to the goals of JICA Viet Nam Office in particular and Japan in general. “Training, fostering leaders and managers at all levels, especially for those of strategic level, administration reform and structure downsizing for effectiveness and efficiency in activities”  is at the top priority level between two nations; therefore Mr. Fujita Yasuo suggested that Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics would send some representatives to participate in the informal talks between Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, JICA Viet Nam Office and Proposal (Project) 165 Steering Committee  (in charge unit of the project).

At the reception, the two sides continued to discuss about: (i) Joint training programs, especially the Training Program for Vietnam’s High-Level Potential National Leaders; (ii) Knowledge Sharing Programs; (iii) Support for Joint Research Programs on digital management, E-government...
