Delegation of Communist Party of Vietnam visits China

Its members were leaders from the Party Central Committee’s Organizing Commission, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, the Central Theoretical Council, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. During the official visit, the delegation attended an international conference titled “Marxism in the 21st Century and the Future for World Socialism” in Shenzhen. The conference presented achievements of 40-year  reform, and development under open policies of Guangdong Province. On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation had a working session with Mr. Xie Chuntao, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC),  Vice President of the Central Party School, and cadres of the Central Party School to discuss new contents in the documents of the CPC’s 19th National Congress.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang met Mr. Huang Kunming, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Head of the CPC’s Publicity Department; Mr. Chen Xi, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Director of the Central Organization Department, and President of the CPC’s Party School; Mr. Li Xi, Politburo member, Party Secretary of Guangdong Province; and Mr. Song Tao, Director of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee. He also worked with the board of directors and scientists of the Peking University. Besides, along with the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang visited, surveyed, and learned about the organization, operation, and model of Party building at enterprises and residential communities such as a communications technology company of Tencent Holdings Ltd., one of the world’s five largest Internet and communications corporations, and Qiaoxiang residential area in Shenzhen with 22,000 people, one Party Secretary, more than 5,000 Party members including 150 members in executive committees of the party hierarchy .

At the working session, Politburo member Chen Xi, Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Director of the Central Organization Department, and President of the CPC Party School , congratulated Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang on the new duty assigned by the CPV Politburo and the Secretariat . He also highly appreciated the extensive cooperation between two Parties, two Governments, and  two Party schools in the field of training and fostering cadres, of theoretical and academic exchange, mutual visits, and more intensive people-to-people ties. Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that the Party, the Government, and the People of Vietnam always valued and sincerely wished to develop a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China. He suggested that the two sides focus on the implementation of the mutual important cooperation  as stated in important agreements and documents signed by leaders of the two Parties and the two Governments. On the other hand, he proposed that China and Vietnam should maintain and enhance high-level exchanges, and increase the efficiency of substantial cooperation in various fields, especially strengthening the cooperation between the Central Party School of China and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

The international conference titled “Marxism in the 21st Century and the Future of World Socialism” was held in Shenzhen on the occasion of 200th birth anniversary of Karl Marx with the participation of nearly a thousand delegates representing 62 Communist Parties, labourers, and left-wing parties of countries. At the event, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang made an important speech to affirm long-lasting values of Marxism as well as the way it was supplemented, applied and creatively developed  by President Ho Chi Minh and CPV in Vietnamese practice and conditions. “The models of socialism in China, Vietnam, and other countries are on the path of reform with nearly 1.5 billion people, making up almost 20% of the world population . This is an irrefutable evidence for the practical value of Marxism and the vitality of socialism in the 21st century with the core values and universal values of the humankind as for the sake of people, by people, focusing on people,  liberating people,” he emphasized.

During the visit, the delegation worked with the board of directors and scientists of the Peking University, one of the Chinese oldest and most prestigious universities. The two sides  explicitly acknowledged the cooperation in academic exchanges between the Peking University and Vietnamese academies and universities, including the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the Vietnam National University. Besides, they discussed the enhancement of the cooperation between the Peking University and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Vietnamese consultative bodies in the field of academic exchanges; research in theory, philosophy, and political economy; and the work of studying and teaching Marxism and scientific socialism at present.

In Beijing, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang and the delegation offered incense and flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh’s Statue at the Embassy of Vietnam. They also talked with Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi and officials of the Embassy on the current situation in Vietnam, in the region and in the world as well as on results and prospects for the cooperation between Vietnam and China currently and in the coming time.

The delegation successfully finished its official visit to China and  came back to Hanoi in the afternoon of May 30.
