Azecbaijan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam visits and works with Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics

Warmly welcoming the Ambassador to the Academy, Prof, Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang introduced some key features of the Academy such as its functions, duties and international cooperation achievements. On the basis of the friendship and traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Azecbaijan, he expressed his desire that H.E Anar Imanov in his position would inherit and continuously enhance the cooperation between the Academy and Azecbaijan partners, especially in the areas of education – training, and scientific research.

Expressing the joy for developing cooperation between the two countries in recent years, Prof, Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that the two sides have great potentialities and common ground to discuss and share experiences, contributing to the development of each country. Highly appreciating Azecbaijan’s establishments of education – training and scientific research, Prof, Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang hoped that the two sides would cooperate and choose suitable partners to connect, exchange delegations and co-organize workshops on interested issues.

While expressing sincere thanks to the Academy’s warm reception and the specific proposals from the Academy President, Ambassador Anar Imanov emphasized that he himself in particular and Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam in general would always  be willing to connect the Academy with corresponding partners in Azecbaijan. He also proposed that the units of the two sides would soon have detailed working sessions on above-mentioned cooperative contents. On the occasion, the Ambassador invited Prof, Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang to visit Azecbaijan and noted that the trip would bring the great results for both.

The Academy President thanked the Ambassador for the invitation and support for the collaborative orientation between two sides in upcoming time. He also expressed his pleasure to visit Azecbaijan in the future and believed that the cooperation between the two countries in general and between the Academy and Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Vietnam in particular would develop continuously on the basis of friendly relationship and political trust.

On the afternoon of the same day, H.E Anar Imanov, Azecbaijan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam delivered lecture on “Azecbaijan and the role of connecting between Asia and Europe” to the Academy’s officials, lecturers and students.

The Republic of Azerbaijan is a country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is bound by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west and Iran to the south. Azecbaijan has been a member state of the Council of Europe since 2001, the European Union's European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) since 2006, the NATO Partnership for Peace (PfP) program since 1994, the NATO’s Individual Partnership Action Plans (IPAP) since 2004 and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) since 1991. The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Socialist Republic of Vietnam were established on September 23, 1992.

An overview of the seminar

H.E. Anar Imanov was born on November 4th 1975 in Baku city, Azecbaijan. He graduated from the faculty of International Law, the University of Azecbaijan in 1996 and the faculty of Law, the University of Baku in 1997. He has taken up the post of Azecbaijan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam from February 2013.
