For the bilateral cooperation to be deeper, more instensive, more effective with higer quality, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that in the coming years, the two sides should soon introduce their experts in the top think-tank organizations from two countries to discuss and share experiences together, especially in the common areas of interest such as political institutional reform in new conditions, the adaptability in integration. On the occasion, he invited the Ambassador to join the workshop on “Regional Security in new context: Experiences of Spain and EU” in Hanoi at the end of March 2018 co-organized by the Academy and Spain’s Alternativas Institute.

Sending sincere thanks to the Academy’s warm reception, Ambassador Maria Jesus FigaLópez-Palop expressed her honour to participate in the workshop on the topic regional security with experts and scientists of the Academy and the Alternativas Institute.  As for the specific proposals from the Academy President, she totally supported and hoped that the relevant organizations of the two sides should activiely work together to put them into practice.

At the reception, the Ambassador emphasized that Spain and Vietnam are geographically faraway but possess many similarities in the building and development process to learn from each other, such as the Spanish transition to democracy from 1975 until now, Vietnam’s renovation process from 1986 until now or the regional integration trend to develop with the role of Spain in EU and Vietnam in ASEAN. Therefore, the Ambassador believed that although Spain has no similar organization like the Academy but on the basis of the common ground, the Spanish Embassy to Vietnam could introduce suitable partners to meet the Academy’s cooperative requirements, thereby enhancing and deepening the mutual cooperation.
