And in the meanwhile, co-organizing workshops and forums on specific and comprehensive security issues is essential for both.

Prof, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang chaired the meeting

Prof. Lori Forman, development advisor of APCSS, expressed her appreciation to the leaders and officials of the Academy for the warm welcome and the close cooperation between the two sides in the past time. She emphasized that Vietnam is the unique country where APCSS built a specific collaborative program and until now, the short – term training programs for Vietnamese officials in APCSS which were organized few years ago have still been referred to as a big achievement. Thus, APCSS wanted to continue organizing similar courses for Vietnam, especially for the Academy’s officials.

On the information sharing mechanisms between two sides, she informed that APCSS would be willing to build regular online exchange mechanisms between the experts and staff of the two sides, as well as send lecturers to the Academy or consider to open courses exclusively for officials of the Academy and Vietnam in APCSS. On common security workshops and forums, APCSS totally supported and hoped that the two sides would soon have a number of more detailed discussions. On this occasion, Prof. Lori Forman invited the Academy’s President to visit and attend a course held by APCSS in Hawai, US.

After the reception, the working groups of the two sides worked directly to develop a detailed plan of cooperation in the coming time.
