    100 years ago, following “Ten days that shook the world”, the Russian October Revolution resulted in the advent of the first socialist state of its kind. The struggle of Soviet people in the ensuing years and the collapse of the Soviet Union over the course of its 74-year existence have shown that seizing power is inherently difficult, but retaining it is far more difficult.

  • Determine position and functions of political schools to meet requirements and missions in new situation

    Implementing the Conclusion No. 117-KL/TW dated Nov 20th 2015 of the Secretariat on training activities at political schools in provinces and municipalities, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held a conference on August 8th 2017 to review 10 years of carrying out Decision No. 184 – QD/TW (Sept 3rd 2008) of the 10thSecretariat on functions, missions and internal organization of political schools in provinces and municipalities. In order to fully understand the Academy’s management on political schools and results after 10-year implementation of the Decision, the Academy’s website had an interview with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – Member of the Central Committee Communist Party of Vietnam, President of Ho Chi Minh Academy of Politics. In practice, the Academy takes the responsibility for leading and coordinating with concerned agencies to formulate, offer guidance and ensure the implementation of training and fostering programs; teaching-learning-researching methods, management regulations; lecturer training programs for political schools in provinces and municipalities.

    Rapid and sustainable development is a broad and complex issue in both theory and practice. In Vietnam, sustainable development is one of the major components of economic growth model reform, which is also the primary objective of the economy. The view of rapid and sustainable development has been clearly pointed out in the Communist Party Congresses in the renewal period. Over the past years, the Party has led and directed the synchronous implementation of many concrete tasks and solutions to realize this viewpoint.

    The Resolution of the 4th Plenum of the Party Central Committee, 12th Tenure on "Strengthening Party building and rectification; prevent, and repel degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, manifestations of internal "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" identifies one of the internal "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" manifestations is “nulifying the socialist-oriented market economy"(1), which denies Vietnam's achievements in economic development, and maintains that economic development lines of the Communist Party of Vietnam are wrong.

    After the heroic victory of the August Revolution on 2 September 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh solemnly read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - a new type of state, the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia, bringing the country to the era of independence and freedom. In the course of leading the revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh have creatively applied Marxism-Leninism and selectively assimilated humankind’s quintessence on the rule of law state to build and complete the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

  • 1945 Declaration of Independence: its historical value and significance of the times

    72 years ago, on September 2nd 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, on behalf of the nation and its people, President Ho Chi Minh delivered the Declaration of Independence announcing the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam – the first worker-peasant State in Southeast Asia. The Declaration was short, but it included immortal contents which had not only historical value for the Vietnamese nation but also great significance of the times.
