BRIEF INFORMATION ON THE CONTRIBUTION OF DOCTORAL THESIS

Title: "Transformation of Vietnamese working class under the impact of current international integration"

SUMMARY OF THE MAJOR CONCLUSIONS

  1. The Vietnamese working class, with the vanguard as the Communist Party of Vietnam, is the leading class, and the main driving force of the revolutionary cause ot national liberation in the past as well as in the cause of building socialism today.
  2. The process of international integration has been making the Vietnamese working class rapidly change in many ways, both positive and negative. Positive changes include: (1) Vietnamese working class is rapidly developing in terms of number and diversity of composition and occupations; (2) Vietnamese working class has been upgraded to a high level of education and occupation, formed a modem working style and discipline; (3) Vietnamese working class had more employment opportunities, improved income and improved living standards. Negative changes include: (1) Tire benefits and role of a part of workers are not fully realized; (2) The social stratification and the gap between the rich and poor is increasingly increased; (3) The class position, political bravery, and revolutionary ideal of a part of workers are fading.
  3. Some issues raised from the transformation of Vietnamese working class under the impact of international integration: (1) The reduction in number of workers in the state economic sector; (2) The risk of unemployment increases in a part of workers when international integration is increasing; (3) The political education and enhancing of ideology for working class is still limited, with difficulties and inadequacy.
  4. Some key measures to promote positive change, prevent and limit negative change of Vietnamese working class under the impact of international integration at present: (1) To boost the industrialization, modernization and international integration associated with the development of knowledge economy in the socialism direction; (2) lo renovate and improve the quality of training, especially vocational training, in order to gradually step up the intellectualization of working class to meet the requirements of international integration; (3) To improve and strictly implement the system of policies and laws in order to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the working class in the process of international integration; (4) To renovate and improve the effectiveness of political education and enhancing of ideology for working class in the process of international integration.
